Labyrinth Ministry
CCC recognizes and honors the labyrinth as a sacred path, which links an important ancient religious meditation tool with contemporary Spiritual practice. In 1999, the congregation participated in constructing an outdoor labyrinth made of individually shaped large stone paving pieces, based on the Amien labyrinth pattern. Rows between the path are planted with pink, sweet thyme. The labyrinth is located within a beautiful and peaceful garden, that also offers a table and chairs for reflection and writing. It is open to the public during daylight hours at any time.
A large canvas labyrinth, based on the Chartres pattern is available for inside use. Several CCC members have been trained as labyrinth facitilators by Veriditas at Grace Cathedral. In 2002, CCC commissioned trained congregational member, Anna Cook, to a labyrinth ministry. This ministry makes the canvas labyrinth availalbe to the wider community. It has been taken to several schools, non-profit agencies, and other religious institutions.
We hold a labyrinth celebration each quarter on either our inside or outside labyrinth.
